Even with the strong censorship, China is an example to be followed when it comes to education.
The Chinese government treats education as a priority for its citizens by building
schools and universities, to have more qualified workforce and therefore ensure the future
global economic leadership. Children learn to be disciplined and to be charged to
engage in studies from small, that because their parents often spend half the family budget for education of their children, this charge increases even more because most families have only one child.
In 2000 there were over 553,622 schools and about 1,041 university and college students
to 219.4 million, with an average dropout from 0.55% in the first six years,3.51% until the seventh year and the ninth year with a sizable increase from the ninth year with 51.2% of students. But with government funding and charging the parents of these figures has been falling more and more.
